Smile Train

Every year, about 35,000 babies are born with cleft lips and palates in India, and hundreds of thousands of children don’t have access to lifesaving cleft treatment. When untreated, children with clefts live in isolation, struggle to eat, breathe, hear, and speak, and are at risk of severe malnutrition.

Smile Train India’s sustainable model enables local doctors and hospitals in India to provide 100%-free cleft repair surgery and comprehensive cleft care to every child in need. The NGO has been helping children improve their lives and ultimately enabling them to thrive since 2000. The world’s largest cleft-focused organization, Smile Train, has transformed over 1.5 million lives globally by supporting safe and quality cleft care services.
